September 14 – Morning

Read

Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice.

(Proverbs 24:17)

Pray

Dear God,

You have taught us in this verse to not gloat when our enemy falls, and to not rejoice when they stumble. Help me to remember this as I interact with those who may have hurt or wronged me. Give me the strength and compassion to resist the urge to revel in their misfortune, and instead grant me the ability to extend forgiveness and grace. Help me to see my enemies through Your eyes, and to respond to them with love and understanding.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
