Read

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

(Joel 2:12-13)

Pray

Dear God,

You call us to return to You with all our hearts, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. You are the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from punishing. I pray for the strength and courage to come before You with a heart that is truly repentant. Help me to turn away from any sin or disobedience in my life, and to seek Your forgiveness and guidance. May my heart be fully devoted to You, and may my actions reflect Your love and grace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
