November 9 – Evening

Read

Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’ And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

(Luke 23:34)

Pray

Dear God,

You demonstrated Your incredible love and forgiveness when Jesus prayed for those who were crucifying him, saying “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” I am in awe of Your amazing grace and mercy towards us, despite our countless failures and shortcomings. Help me to embody that same spirit of forgiveness in my own life, especially towards those who have wronged me. Give me the strength and humility to let go of any anger or resentment, and instead extend Your love to others, just as You have done for me.

I pray that You would continue to work in my heart, teaching me to love even when it’s difficult, and to forgive even when it seems impossible. May Your example of forgiveness inspire me to be a vessel of Your peace and reconciliation in this world. Thank You for Your unending love and mercy, and for the ultimate sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
