It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake.
You have entrusted me with the responsibility of being a watchman, to stay alert and be prepared for the coming of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I pray for the strength and wisdom to fulfill this duty faithfully, to not grow complacent or distracted by the concerns of this world. Help me to be vigilant and diligent in seeking Your will and following Your ways, so that I may be found worthy when the time comes for Christ’s return.
I ask for Your guidance and protection as I navigate the challenges of this life, keeping my eyes fixed on the hope of Your promise. May I be found ready and waiting, shining Your light in this dark world, and using the time and resources You have given me to serve and love others as You have called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
