Read

And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”

(Jonah 4:11)

Pray

Dear God,

You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love. I thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness, even when I have strayed from Your will. Help me to extend this same compassion to others, just as You did for the people of Nineveh in the book of Jonah. Teach me to have a heart of empathy and understanding, and to always seek reconciliation and peace.

I pray for those who have yet to experience Your love and grace, that they may come to know You and be transformed by Your spirit. May I be a vessel for Your love and mercy, sharing the good news of Your redemption with those around me. Help me to be patient and kind, remembering that Your desire is for all people to come to repentance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
