August 28 – Evening

Read

If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

(John 15:18-19)

Pray

Dear God,

You have reminded us in this verse that as Your followers, we are not of this world. The world may hate us because we belong to You, but we take comfort in knowing that You have chosen us out of the world. Help us to always remember that our purpose is to bring glory to Your name, even in the face of opposition and persecution.

As we go about our daily lives, help us to stand firm in our faith and to represent You well in all that we do. Give us the strength and courage to remain steadfast in the face of adversity, knowing that we are not alone but that You are with us every step of the way. Thank You for choosing us and equipping us to be Your ambassadors in this world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
