August 17 – Evening

Read

Then I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, ‘Let us rise up and build.’ So they strengthened their hands for the good work.

(Nehemiah 2:18)

Pray

Dear God,

You have called us to rise up and build, just as Nehemiah did when he saw the broken walls of Jerusalem. Give us the same courage and boldness to step out in faith and take action when we see areas in our own lives or in our communities that are in need of restoration and renewal. Help us to not be afraid or discouraged, but to trust in Your strength and guidance as we work towards rebuilding and restoring what has been broken.

May we be filled with a spirit of unity and cooperation, coming together to work towards a common goal. Help us to encourage and support one another as we undertake this important work. And may our efforts bring glory and honor to You, as we seek to bring hope, healing, and restoration to those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
